Lower your Gaze…

For the last 25+ years, my physical health has not been a priority.

Circa 2000, when I felt out of shape, I could do pushups and sit-ups for a week to tighten up my core and that would suffice for a while.

Around the age of 40… well that method stopped be effective. At the time business was booming and I was enjoying life. “taking it easy on my body”

In the meantime, I was searching for challenging problems to solve. Out there somewhere, there must be things I can tackle.

Business A

Business B

Starting Business C

I had some success and some failure in my pray and spray method…

What I see now is that I missed the project that was staring at back at me in the mirror for years. Probably the most important project I could have tackled.

…my physical health. Eating Clean and Putting my body under some load to maintain strength.

Excuses were a dollar a dozen.

No time…

No energy…

I’m ok with my “healthier” weight…

My wife will love me no matter what I look like…

These are all of course BS, I was not motivated, and I was ok choosing the lesser self.

To make sure my heroic self will continue to show up, my exercise is now one of the first things on my calendar.

Crazy things are starting to happen. When I get in that physical activity earlier in the day, my day seems to be more productive and I have

More capacity…

More energy…

More time freed up…

And I feel more focused…

For the past 25 years, Instead of watching my hairline recede I should have lowered my gaze to that protruding belly!
