Challenge Accepted…

As a kid, I never backed down from endurance challenges. I was tall, fast and had lots of leg strength but had almost no upper body strength. I learned how to pick my challenges based on my strengths.

Rope Climb. Fail… Monkey Bars. Fail… Pull-ups. Fail…

If anyone challenged me on these things, I had the excuses ready.

I’m too tall, my feet touch…Or My arms are too long, its harder for me to pull my body weight.

…And then I would turn it around and challenge them to something that I knew I could win…

Basically, if I knew I couldn’t win, I just didn’t play. I didn’t leave, I just didn’t play, I made an excuse.

…As I started in business, I stopped the pursuit of physical challenges. I felt like I deserved to slow down. I didn’t need to push myself physically. And it shows!

For the last few years, I have been around a group of individuals that can not be easily described or put in a box and may be best described as a tribe.

I found them in a pursuit to improve my skills to sell more houses. WOW, the journey I have been on with them has been insane and so much more than houses, in fact, we discuss selling houses less than 20% of the time.

We, as a group of humans, have grown tremendously over the years, frequently challenging each other, in everything Mind, Body, Business, and Relationships.

The leader of this group of misfits, Ryan Fletcher, recently did a Spartan Race with his wife and two younger kids. He subsequently throws down the gauntlet for anyone who feels up to the challenge to join him in conquering the Spartan Trifecta in 2020.

For the past few days, I have sat on the sidelines reading other people in the tribe accepting the challenge. I did some reading on what it entails. It is going to kick my ass… over half of the obstacles are pure upper body!

Excuses don’t matter. Finishing does.

Today, I think I may have lost my mind. I’m in!

During the 2020 Calendar Year. Three races covering 24 total miles, and 75 obstacles along the way.

If anyone in NWI wants to join the challenge, let’s do it!

Challenge Accepted… As a kid, I never backed down from endurance challenges. I was tall, fast and had lots of leg…
